Stunning North Cascades Elopement

Kayla and Lucas were the absolute sweetest. We met up in the North Cascades while they were on their road trip honeymoon for some post-wedding photos in their wedding clothes. It was such a fun, relaxed day filled with love and new memories.

An Unconventional Elopement

While Kayla and Lucas may have had an idea for how they were going to get married, their wedding plans were severely impacted by COVID. They ended up getting hitched in 2020, in a small ceremony with just a few of their people present. But they really wanted to experience a mountain elopement in their wedding clothes. So when they emailed me sharing their vision for the elopement in the North Cascades, I was so excited to help them experience the elopement they were dreaming of.

Kayla and Lucas came all the way from South Dakota for their elopement in the North Cascades. They’d never been to the North Cascades before and it was part of their whirlwind roadtrip honeymoon to visit the mountains and don their wedding attire.

We met up by the side of an alpine lake and they both were rocking their wedding clothes right away. Kayla’s dress from BHLDN was perfect for a mountain elopement with its fluttering, gauzy accents that caught perfectly in the mountain breezes. And Lucas was looking dapper in his suit and tie. They brought some special little touches and details on the trip with them. Kayla made her dried bouquet herself so it would travel well. They also had a custom ring box and I made sure to capture their ring inscriptions.

From there, we headed up the mountain to an overlook for sunset. The weather was perfect and at one point, two golden sunbeams illuminated Kayla as she stood on the cliff’s edge. The couple popped some bubbly and were laughing while they ran toward the mountains. And as the sun dipped lower, they slow danced to their song.
